Hybrex Solutions - SOHO

The small office or home office (SOHO) is a significant form of business. With generally somewhere between one and five employees, SOHO holds a considerable position in business numbers in Australia and is often the birthplace of the larger businesses of tomorrow. Being small, economy and efficiency are important considerations for the SOHO. This is applicable to all capital expenditure and in particular the lifeline of small business - its telephone system.

The Hybrex G1E Plus is ideally suited to the SOHO for a number of reasons.
The main ones being it offers a considerable range of functionality right out of the box, whilst being eminently affordable.
The full list of G1E Plus features is available. Features particularly relevant to SOHO are listed below :
  • The G1E Plus Base Cofiguration covers your primary needs :

The standard G1E Plus base configuration is 4 PSTN trunk ports, 8 digital station ports for keyphones, and 4 analogue station ports for single line telephones, fax, and cordless phones / answering machines. Base configurations can also be supplied to order with an alternate trunk port module comprising either 4 SIP trunk ports, or 3 ISDN BRI ports (6lines).

Also integrated in the base configuration are system features such as:
    • Caller Line Identification (CLI), where supplied by your Telco, is passed to every station port so CLI enabled devices display your callers number. Caller ID is also shown for any intercom call.
    • Two minute recordable message memory so your own company promotional message can be played to your callers in place of Music on Hold.
    • Three x one minute recordable AA message memory, and three x 20 second ACD message memory, for the short messages used in call handling where Auto Attendant/Direct Inwards System Access (DISA) or Operator Overflow/ACD features are used.
    • Calls can be picked up at any extension keeping your communication options flexible.
    • Call Waiting facilities on PSTN trunks from your Telco can be used to expand your incoming call versatility.
    • Connect your Fax line and machine to the G1E and optimise its use by configuring the Fax line for use as an overflow facility for outgoing calls.
    • DUET capability - distinctive ring to separately handle/route voice/fax calls - enabling further reduction in outgoing costs.
  • Expandability Options for versatility :

The G1E has a range of expansion options:
    • Master Processor Option :
The G1E Master Processor Unit (G1E-MPU), when fitted, transforms the G1E Plus into a system with the full GDS feature set. This system is then referred to as a G1E+M or G1E-GDS. The G1E-MPU is available in two forms : one for single cabinet (MPU1), and one with multi-cabinet option (MPU4). This transformation of the humble G1E Plus includes not only the addition of the extensive programming features of the GDS software but LAN connectivity and further hardware expansion options of support for : IP extension phones and devices, the soon to be released Advanced Messaging System (AMS) with extensive UC and voice services functionality, SIP trunk and SIP extension capacity expansion in each cabinet, and multicabinet expansion (up to 4 cabinets) with the MPU4 option.
For more information on this system form see the G1E-GDS page.
    • Trunk expansion :
All common forms of trunking are available - PSTN, ISDN Basic Rate (BRA), VoIP (SIP) trunks for todays convergent networks and multi-site businesses.
The G1E+ has two trunk card/module positions. PSTN modules comprise 4 trunks, ISDN BRA modules comprise 6 trunks, and VoIP modules comprise 4 or 8 trunks. This means you can option the G1E in a number of ways to suit your needs. For example with two ISDN modules installed there would be 12 trunks available, Any combination of modules can be used to provide up to a maximum of 12 trunks on the base G1E Plus system.
    • Station expansion :
The G1E Plus has two extra station card/module positions. Digital station cards comprise 8 ports. Analogue station modules comprise 8 ports. In the same way as the trunk options extra modules can be added to suit your needs. For example an extra module of each type would allow the maximum number of stations as 16 digital + 12 analogue. Any combination of modules can be used.
    • Choice of handsets :
Whilst the Hybrex DK6 is the prefered handset for G1E, the DK2, DK3, and DK7 are also suitable so a range of user preferences are satisfied. Compatible also are the Hybrex doorphones - the Hybrex Access Control Phone (ACP) and standard doorphone.
    • Voice Mail :
Integrated Voice Mail (Voice Services Unit module) is available providing features such as 4 port 8 hour voicemail facilities, conference facilities, and simple call recording. This module also expands the AA channel capacity to 6 channels.
Currently in development, and available very soon for G1E Plus fitted with a Master Processor (G1E+M), is a new Voicemail module that will provide for Unified Messaging and extensive call recording features.
    • VoIP :
The new Hybrex ITU VoIP trunking module provides multiple options for SIP trunk connectivity: available in 4 and 8 trunk versions for the base G1E+ system, ITU modules allow connections to be made to up to 4 different servers (VSP's) per module. In addition sophisticated new peer to peer (P2P) connectivity options are available to enable multi-site SIP trunk networking to other VoIP endpoints - particularly other Hybrex systems with ITU's that can provide multi-site desk to desk dialing - for your business.
The advantages of VoIP can be further leveraged if the G1E Plus is fitted with a master processor module - turning it into an G1E+M and bringing it into the GDS class with regards to features : in this format ISU modules can be fitted that provide IP extension capability thereby allowing the remote deploy of SIP phones as extensions off the main system. These SIP extension devices can range from the Hybrex IP38-61 IP Phone that provides all the same features as a system keyphone but remotely deployable, to standard IP phones from third party manufacturers that provide SLT like functionality remotely, to softphones that run on a computer or notebook for the road warriors in your business. These remote IP extension devices function anywhere they are able to obtain viable broadband Internet access - think about the possibilities !
    • Other Features :
      Being part of the Hybrex digital system series there are numerous other options and features are available. Features such as CTI: Hybrex Call Accounting System, Access Control, and TAPI interface for third party CTI products to mention a few;
For a small system the G1E is rich in features, a full list of which can be found here
